Croeso i blwyddyn 2! Welcome to year 2!
Welcome back to a brand-new term in Year 2! We are excited to see everyone ready for learning, fun, and new adventures together.
Key information:
PE and Outdoor Learning – Our PE session will take place on Tuesday, and we will also be having Outdoor Learning every Tuesday. On this day, children will need sensible shoes/trainers and a coat. As we will be taking part in daily physical activities outside, please ensure children wear sensible shoes to school every day.
👉 Please make sure your child brings a coat to school every day, as we will be making the most of outdoor learning whenever possible.
Kerbcraft – Every Wednesday, the children will be taking part in Kerbcraft sessions. These will be outdoors in all weather, so please ensure your child comes to school with a coat each Wednesday.
Reading Books – Reading books must be returned on your child’s allocated reading day. This will be clearly labelled on their reading folder.
Homework – All children should now have their login details for HWB, TT Rockstars, and NumBots. If you need passwords resent or support accessing these resources, please contact the class teacher.
ClassDojo – Please ensure you are signed up to ClassDojo for important updates. If you need a new login, please ask the class teacher.
Snack – Our fruit tuck shop has re-opened. Children can purchase fruit/vegetables for 30p a day or bring their own healthy fruit or vegetable snack from home for morning break and playtime. We are encouraging all children to bring a healthy snack to help promote good habits and keep them energised for learning.
Water Bottles – To help children stay hydrated throughout the day, we encourage them to bring a water bottle to school. Please make sure water bottles are labelled with your child’s name to avoid confusion.
We are thrilled to be welcoming the children back to school and looking forward to kicking off the Autumn Term with our topic Up, Up and Away! The children will take on the role of astronaut as they explore what humans need to survive, look closely at the different planets in our solar system, and even imagine life on distant alien worlds. Through science, technology, creativity, and storytelling, pupils will build curiosity and problem-solving skills while also reflecting on how we can care for our own planet.
We launched our topic with an exciting visit from the Wonderdome! The children were fascinated by the immersive space experience and left buzzing with curiosity, full of brilliant questions and imaginative ideas to explore further in class.
Please remember that if you have any queries or would like to chat about your child, you are always welcome to contact the class teacher.
Thank you for your continued support.
